Google Maps with multiple markers

Overview

This Zip-File includes two Plugins to provides the ability to place multiple Markers on a Google Map.

Region Plugin

For the Region Plugin you have to provide a SQL in the Region-Source with the following structure:

select <column1> as name,
       <column2> as lat,
       <column3> as lng,
       <column4> as img
from <table>

Example:

select location_name as name,
       latitude as lat,
       longitude as lng,
       icon as img
from LOCATIONS

Item Plugin

For the Item-Plugin, the location of each marker is stored in a JSON string which is one parameter for the plugin. The Plugin offers also parameters to change the marker-ico or the type of map. You will find several examples on the demo-page.

JSON Example

Example of the JSON string which contains the locations and other parameters:

{"gps": [
    {"base": [{
          "name": "Center",
          "lat": 52.518728,
          "lng": 13.376745,
          "type": "ROAD",
          "zoom": 12
        }]},
    {"marker": [
        {
          "name": "Berlin Reichstag",
          "lat": 52.518728,
          "lng": 13.376745,
          "img": "#WORKSPACE_IMAGES#map_marker_blue.png"
        },
        {
          "name": "Berlin Siegessäule",
          "lat": 52.514716,
          "lng": 13.351682,
          "img": ""
        },
        {
          "name": "Checkpoint Charlie",
          "lat": 52.507468,
          "lng": 13.393611
        }
      ]}
  ]}

The JSON string contains one structure called "base" which stores the base GPS coordinates and further settings to align the map.

Within the structure "marker" all the points are stored which should be shown on the map.

The format of the JSON string is also described in the help text of the plugin. (take a look at the readme file)

The zip file also contains a demo pl/sql package how to generate the JSON string from a PL/SQL Table (Collection).

Negative longitude on Region plugin
by joel grocock
on March 15, 2017
Hi,
Is the region plugin able to cope with -ve values for longitude, as I can't seem to get the following JSON working? If I remove test2 then it works fine.

{"gps":[
{"base":[
{"name": "XXX", "lat": 51.1849905, "lng": .35011}]},
{"marker":[
{"name": "test1", "lat": 48.9897, "lng": 2.819181, "img": ""},
{"name": "test2", "lat": 53.380281, "lng": -2.118961, "img": ""}]}
]}

Any help appreciated.

Joel
